Downes Solicitors originally had a brochure website. It represented what they did but there was no proper site architecture, content plan or linking strategy in place for them to actually appear high in the rankings. Outside of branded search, their website was not competing for the types of queries and searches that are directly tied to the core services they want to promote.

Building The Foundations

Our first step was to rebuild their website. We aligned the sitemap (both the core pages and their respective subpages) into a keyword analysis. From here we built customised content for each of these pages, created topic clusters and implemented an internal linking structure. Once live, we moved into monthly management that consisted of content, technical site management and outbound link acquisition campaigns.

Given the firm wanted to see an immediate increase in new business opportunities, we setup a Google Ads campaign. Previously there had been an over reliance on referrals and more traditional forms of advertising, as well as some attempts at paid online advertising. We wanted to start with Google Search and to build both traffic data and conversion data within the account.

Scaling

Once we felt the lead volume and lead quality was in a good place, the next step was to scale the campaign. We did this through effective A/B testing along with our CRO schedule while measuring the changes from the incremental budget increases. We would also continuously assess search volume vs total available market that we were reaching and feed that data back to the client in making projections and other decisions.

Branding Upgrade

While we had built the client’s website, we wanted a defined funnel with custom landing pages that had one goal in common, qualified lead generation. Taking our videographer on-site, we were able to upgrade their marketing assets and branding while also having new custom pages for our ad campaign that spoke directly to the clients they were looking to target.

CRO & A/B Tests

Having the new upgraded assets was the first step. From there we needed to work on a testing schedule that would allow us to make continuous improvements. This could be anything from our ad angle to CTA options and post-lead sequences as well as the information hierarchy on the key landing pages. The consistent iterations ensures the campaign always has the potential to improve.
